For April 2003 Commentary: April saw the continuation of the Memoirs series. Honestly, I didn't intend on having it last this long, but people seemed to like it so much, and many of them submitted ideas and suggestions (especially a certain Kimberly Ko.. I wrote "Thanks Kim!" on the bottom of the strips that were based on an idea that she sent.. and she sent a LOT). Eventually though, I knew that enough was enough. As much praise as I was getting, I didn't want to overdo it. So I decided to end the Memoirs series around mid April. There were other things, too. Personally, I really liked the Saddam series. Even moreso, that I was constantly glued to CNN, watching war coverage. With the war in Iraq coming to a close, and Saddam still not found, I really wanted to bring him back to the strip. And I did! April brought in a number of changes for me. During Spring break (the last week of March), my girlfriend (now my ex girlfriend) got a taste of freedom, and realized that she enjoyed it more than being with me. This reached the point where she would eventually lie to me about what she did at a club one night. I would later find out the truth through my own friends the next day - the WORST way that anybody can find out about their signifcant other - through their friends. That shit messed me up bad. But I remained civil. This of course, would all change in May... --May 12, 2003
